Good wheat!

About a month ago we were out tooling around, taking photos and whatnot, when Michele tells me, "Let's make some beer tomorrow!" I never turn down requests like this, so we headed over to SF Brewcraft to pick something up.

I don't typically carry around beer recipes (although that might be a good idea), so the plan was to just grab a copy of their bitter recipe and buy the ingredients. "Oglethorp's Best Bitter" is one of Michele's favorites, so of course they don't have a copy of the recipe handy. Instead, we grabbed their American wheat recipe (Michele loves her some hefeweizen) and brewed it up.

We cracked open a couple bottles the other night, and it came out pretty good. Not terrific, but a nice summer beer. A slice of lemon really livens it up, which makes me wonder if a lot of the wheat "tang" got lost in there somehow. Ah, if only I had the space for all-grain!
